Steelstrip Services Limited (trading as) Servosteel are the largest independently owned steel toll processors in the UK. They are based on a 200,000sq ft premises, located in Dudley, at the heart of the West Midlands and accessible to an incredible network infrastructure.
Herefordshire based Natural Paint UK Limited, owner of the premium brand Edward Bulmer Natural Paint was incorporated in 2017, creating paint made with an innovative plant based binder without plastics or harmful chemicals.
Datagraphic wanted to develop carbon footprint processes in line with the requirements of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol standards. To support this, the Manufacturing Growth Programme provided grant funding towards two business improvement projects. Their first improvement project was the development of energy-saving plans and ISO 50001. Their second project supported them with a net zero carbon strategy and implementation of the strategy.
One of their key company challenges included capacity, which is where the Manufacturing Growth Programme was able to assist by providing funding towards the cost of a filling machine. MGP also helped to prepare the business to achieve ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 22716 cosmetic standard accreditations, which are necessary to safely manufacture, package, test, store, and transport cosmetic products.
Their most recent project with MGP helped Good Ventures to work towards understanding and reducing their carbon footprint. MGP part-funded the cost of a consultancy project to investigate the environmental impact of their ingredient sourcing and production processes, and to measure their carbon footprint accurately.
There has been a boom in the popularity of cycling, health and fitness recently. As a result, the business has experienced rapid growth which has brought about challenges such as needing to increase their capacity and productivity. To assist with their high-growth challenges, the business has utilised various support programmes available in the Leeds City region. Restrap has benefitted from capital funding from the Leeds Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). They have also been able to access grant funding from the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP), and also fully funded business coaching from the Strategic Growth Programme (SGP).
