Managing Director Velia Longo founded the business with the aim of creating affordable beauty tools that last. Whilst the beauty industry is a challenging market to enter, Velia has shown determination and focus to drive the business forward with utilising innovative design and long-lasting beauty technology. Make Up Technology Ltd, has never compromised on quality with sustainability at the core of their business model. They want to make single use plastic a thing of the past! The business aims to be the first to specialise in non-disposable cosmetic packaging developed in the UK.
One of the business’ key challenges was their need for a robust digital marketing strategy and to secure funding to achieve their goals. As a result, Velia reached out to the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) to assist with removing some of their barriers to growth.
They worked closely with Manufacturing Growth Manager Sarah Goodwin who supported the business with a project focused on improving their digital strategy whilst expanding their overseas sales. Sarah stated “Velia is an inspiring businesswoman, with unique products designed by her. She has a focus on the quality and sustainability of the product and the price range is affordable.”
Since the project, sales have improved and they are aiming to employ two new staff members over the next couple of months.
Velia Longo, Managing Director was asked what advice would she give to a business thinking of using the MGP, “Get in touch as soon as you can because it may be the help you need to get your business to the next level!”
Future plans for the business are to continue expanding into Europe and the US, whilst building a strong digital brand with a customer centric focus. They are continuing to develop their core product range to ensure that is the best that it can be.
