Bassetlaw based Hang Framing Ltd was set up in November 2019 with a view to disrupt the sector and become the biggest signpost brand for the picture framing business.
Hang Framing Ltd takes the hassle out of custom picture framing. The customer can upload a photo (or send in the art), choose a frame, preview the solution and then check-out using transparent pricing. All materials are from a sustainable source so creating an ethical solution for the finished product. Since the company officially launched in 2021, the challenge has been to stand out from the other competitors through a simple customer journey backed by design expertise and support using sustainable solutions.
The business required support to create brand and packaging designs to include on their new website. The Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) has been able to support this business with grant funding which has been used towards the cost of hiring an expert towards e-commerce development.
Richard Halstead, Manufacturing Growth Manager for the MGP stated, “This is a very exciting business which MGP have helped to move from a Facebook based start up to a growing business with its own website and e-commerce solution”.
Managing Director Andy Hook was asked what advice he would give to a business thinking of using the MGP, Andy answered, “It was a no brainer for me as it made our budget go further. Richard Halstead also gave some fantastic advice and was very knowledgeable. We hope to work together again in the future.”
Andy commented further, “MGP has been a fantastic help with funding going towards creating custom e-commerce architecture and design that will really improve user experience and differentiate us from the competition. We have taken on an additional assistant framer and plan on taking someone on for the marketing. We also hope to design our own mouldings and make sure 100% of our materials are from sustainable sources.”
Their ongoing growth plans include moving to a new premises to allow the business to increase their capacity and productivity.
