Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) specialises in the design, manufacture, installation and service of on-board weighing, bin weighing, overload production systems and waste management software. VWS sought help from the Manufacturing Growth Programme in expanding their manufacturing and installation site in Chesterfield to help them to increase their output and keep up with increasing customer demand.
The business helps other organisations within the transportation and waste management industry to better manage their operations and supports them to reduce their CO2 emissions which supports the global drive for carbon reduction and environmental improvements.
Julian Glasspole, Managing Director of VWS has stated; “MGP have been great to work with. VWS has built a new factory and invested approximately £2.8 million into the Chesterfield site and new equipment, subsequently we have experienced a 25% increase in sales. Along with the increased capacity and productivity, our business has created 15 new jobs to date.”
MGP has helped the business to access a grant towards the cost of a new Haas CNC machine. The company have subsequently purchased a second CNC machine as the productivity improvements evidenced from the first machine have created sufficient return on investment to support this additional capital investment.
