Leading freshness ingredient brand, Micro-Fresh, is delighted to announce the appointment of Jigna Varu as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Micro-Fresh International.
After attending the University Of Roehampton in Middlesex studying Biomedical Science Jigna joined Micro-Fresh in 2013 as part-time Client Services Assistant and quickly established her positioning within the company as she took responsibility for establishing relationships with Home Centre in Dubai, where the Micro-Fresh brand is now seen throughout the Emirates as a feature in Home Centre Bedding ranges. Jigna was also behind the launch with John Lewis Quilts and Pillows in 2015, and the John Lewis Baby and Nursery Range in 2016 – a pivotal moment to the growth of Micro-Fresh.
She said: “I’m excited to take Micro-Fresh to the next level, being recognised as a globally trusted household brand; we aim to turn Micro-Fresh into a verb – with people saying something along the lines of ‘has that t-shirt been Micro-Freshed?”
Initially developed in 2006 as an anti-mould agent, Micro-Fresh technology is incorporated into products featured in retailers such as John Lewis, Debenhams, M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
The invisible freshness agent prevents odours in footwear, bedding and homewear and is hypoallergenic. The Micro-Fresh brand is regarded as an added value product by over 50 retailers.
The international company has a 45% year-on-year growth, and with nine offices around the globe and the main office in Leicester, the company are looking to expand and open a new office hub in the UK soon.
Jigna is now responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of the business on a global level as well as continuing to play a key role in meeting the company’s aggressive growth goals whilst nurturing the firm’s outstanding reputation for innovation and delivery.
Jigna will also oversee the second phase of the business “Home Fresh” where the Micro-Fresh technology is used to prevent mould growth in plaster for bathrooms and basements and ensuring your home is as fresh and clean as possible in paint and wallpaper.
Byron Dixon OBE, CEO of Micro-Fresh, said: “with Jigna’s drive, energy, hard work and passion we are thrilled to have appointed her as CCO. Working alongside someone of Jigna’s calibre is a great endorsement of our strategy and ambition. She has earned the respect of our customers, suppliers, overseas offices and local team and is perfectly placed to head up the commercial aspects of Micro-Fresh as we continue our ambitious plans to grow and develop”

We have a tremendous opportunity to grow further and continue to diversify into new sectors, bringing our strong business values and innovative technology to match the demands and high expectations of our clients. We at Micro-Fresh are in an excellent position to capitalise on the growth opportunities presented by improving markets. Micro-Fresh’s brand, values sit close to my own and I am excited to continue on my own personal journey of growth within a company I know and trust.
