A Warwick-based company that helps customers in pharma, confectionary and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) commercialise new products faster and at lower risk is looking to double the size of its business by 2021.
3P Innovation, which provides standard technologies, machine platforms and custom automation, has tapped into support from the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) to transform its digital marketing strategy in a big to target new markets.
The firm has developed a new website (www.3pinnovation.com) that is content driven and more customer responsive, whilst plans are in place to employ new digital techniques to help drive engagement and traffic.
It comes at a perfect time for the business, with its new purpose-built engineering facility set to be opened before Christmas and a recruitment drive that has so created 10 new jobs.
“After a number of new contract wins this year, our turnover is set to reach a £6.5million high…this is just the start of a bigger plan to be at £12m within three years and rapidly increasing our workforce to 150,” explained Emma Duncan, Marketing Manager at 3P Innovation.
“In order to support this ambitious strategy, we needed to completely change our approach to digital marketing. Our old website was not fit for purpose, customer enquiries were not being responded to quickly enough and we had little penetration into new sectors where our solutions could make a big difference.”
She went on to: “We couldn’t do it on our own so decided to look at how the Manufacturing Growth Programme might help and that decision didn’t disappoint.”
MGP, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and delivered by Economic Growth Solutions (EGS), immediately completed a strategic review to identify barriers to growth.
Manufacturing Growth Manager Michelle Connor worked with Emma and her team to put in place an action plan to completely transform the company’s online presence, starting with a more interactive website and then a carefully tailored digital marketing strategy that would raise its profile and generate new enquiries.
“Working with MGP has been very easy and each time we have a meeting, new ideas are generated that will have a lasting benefit to us. The funding definitely helped take our efforts to another level and has accelerated how quickly we managed to get the website live and the other campaigns underway,” continued Emma.
Michelle Connor added her support: “3P Innovation is at the cutting edge of new technology and boasts a track record of helping significant global players bring new products to market quickly.
“The issue it had was awareness of what it does outside of its traditional customer base and this is something we have been working with the company to rectify, first through its online presence and, going forward, how it communicates its expertise.
She concluded: “For instance, the firm specialises in design and manufacture of cleanroom and aseptic processes, power liquid filling and parenteral device fill and finish. Our support will help tell this story and then find ways of taking the messages to new audiences.”
