3P Innovation sets its sights on doubling sales after recent recruitment drive | Manufacturing Growth Programme

A Warwick-based company that helps customers in pharma, confectionary and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) commercialise new products faster and at lower risk; is looking to double the size of its business over the next 3 years.

3P Innovation, which provides custom machinery and automation solutions and specialises in powder and liquid filling, has tapped into support from the Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP) to transform its digital marketing strategy in a bid to target new markets and increase sales.

The firm is already reaping the benefits from their new website www.3pinnovation.com. The website is content driven and more customer responsive, with further plans in place to employ new digital techniques to help drive engagement and traffic. This, combined with their purpose-built facility at Tournament Fields Business Park, has already led to a 40% increase in sales and has so far created 14 new jobs.

“After a number of new contract wins this year, our turnover is set to reach a £7.7 million high… this is just the start of a bigger plan to be at £14m within three years”, explained Simon Strothers, Business Development Director at 3P.

“In order to support this ambitious strategy, we needed to adapt to the fast-changing world of digital marketing and rethink our online presence. Thanks to support from the Manufacturing Growth Programme, our new website is now appropriate for a company of our size and service offering and is helping to drive a real increase in good-quality, on-line enquiries.”

MGP, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and delivered by Economic Growth Solutions part of Oxford Innovation Services Ltd, immediately completed a strategic review to identify barriers to growth.

Manufacturing Growth Manager Michelle Connor worked with Simon and his team to put in place an action plan to completely transform the company’s online presence, starting with a more interactive website and then a carefully tailored digital marketing strategy that would raise its profile and generate new enquiries.

“Working with MGP has been very easy and each time we have a meeting, new ideas are generated that will have a lasting benefit to us. The funding has definitely helped take our efforts to another level.”
